Vista formally known as USDA EXP-074 is a triploid hop selection coming out of the USDA's OSU's breeding program in Corvallis, Oregon. Vista was released in 2021 by the USDA after extensive research was done one it all across the United States with success not just in the PNW but also in New York, Vermont and the Mid West. Vista is a beast of a hop and is one of the most agronomically sound varieties grown in New York State and around the globe. Vista's impressive growth habit, massive cones, low input costs and tolerance to draught and wet conditions make it one of, if not the most versatile growing hops in the world.
Vista's flavor and aroma are equally impressive as its beauty in the field, showcasing tropical flavors of papaya, tasty honeydew melons, stone fruity peach and a unique twist of mint in some lots. We've found Vista to be a wonderful companion many of your favorite fruity hops. It's lower amounts of co-humulone and mid-levels of Alpha Acid make it a good hop for hot side additions as well!
